Listening to this Q&A will provide insight about what it is like to take part in a Pay Me What I am Worth Class. Christina Ervin and I decide to get real in our conversation with Soul.. Enjoy!!
Since December 2010, I've been searching for grand purpose in life. I honestly desired to know who I am and what I am here to do.
I finally learned how to stop analyzing everything and let exploring take over!!
Learning to balance giving and receiving has opened my world!! I thought I had balance but I was completely off track with this knowledge of worth. I discounted myself and my worth for way too long!! For almost 5 years I went through struggling how to make ends meet every month. See I was not your typical gal with a job or any income to start. I started with no income once I moved to Boston to help with the care of my mom.
I was told that mentors should not charge, ever. So for 5 years I mentored, trained, and spent time giving myself away for free. Guess what? My time, my talents and my experiences in life matter!!
I can see if I was inexperienced with mentoring, then volunteering is the best way to learn. But once we learn something, we have skills which are worth value.
I changed my whole perspective about giving my value away for free when I was asked this crucial question. Are you being paid what you are worth? It stopped me dead in my tracks when I had to honestly say no.
So how about you? Are you being paid what you are worth?
Isn't it time that you finally honored your worth?
